Ash, Attached are pictures of what was found after popping the motor and tearing it down last night. (pix are of cylinders 5 & 6) The one piston top is a little banged up from that huge piece of valve that snapped off and bounced around, but it seems that it shouldn't be an issue. I also have a few tiny nicks in the turbine blades, but that shouldn't be an issue either. However the heads need to be redone and I need a couple seats and valves. While I appreciate your offer of headwork, I need to get her back together ASAP for the PINKS event, so I overnighted the heads to Kyle this morning. No signs of detonation were found as per Tony M. and I am awaiting a response from Kyle after close examination. I made 3 passes at the track. First one was 11.5 at 128 mph with 2.0 60'. Second run I spun the tires, so I just cruised down the track. Third pass was 11.3 seconds at 125 mph with a 1.9 60'. When I got to the end of the track after the third run, it was evident that I had developed a problem and I parked the car. I heard nothing during that run and I think I would have heard detonation. Boost was about 26-28 pounds during these runs. Coolant level was and has been full. Fuel injectors will be ohmed out and I will get you those results, but I doubt 2 injectors went bad at the exact same time, not to mention that there are no real signs of detonation. Fuel damper is still in place. Dual Wideband set up is going in this week along with a fuel pressure gauge. I, along with a few other people with whom I have consulted thus far, are very convinced that this would not have ever happened if I kept the NGK Iridium #8s in place, as they are a colder plug and don't extend as far into the combustion chamber. Tony pulled plugs # 5 & 6 from his brothers car a couple days after my incident and found that while all the the other plugs looked OK, #5&6 were starting to get a little crispy. I'm collecting receipts for this depressing repair job and will be in touch with you later this week. Regards, Tony Z. 215-964-4018
